As part of the 5th term UNIDES program, supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Nursing Science and Culture Club organized an “From Theory to Practice: Nursing Students’ Peer Gathering for Competency Development and Cultural Learning Through Simulation Training” project. As part of this project, adult advanced life support simulation training was conducted at the RMK AIMES Center at Koç University in Istanbul.

As part of the training, our students received instruction on performing effective and proper chest compressions and using a defibrillator within the scope of advanced life support procedures.

To the RMK AIMES Center, which supported and hosted our UNIDES Project; to our education coordinator, Dr. Ulufer Sivrikaya; to Professor Dr. Ayişe Karadağ, who supported our training at the RMK AIMES Center—an institution that places great importance on education and the sharing of up-to-date information in the nursing profession; and we extend our heartfelt thanks, on behalf of our Faculty and Club, to the Dean of the Koç University School of Nursing, Professor Dr. Duygu Gözen, and the faculty members of the Koç University School of Nursing for hosting us at their school.

As part of the project’s cultural tour, we visited Istanbul’s historic sites. We would also like to express our gratitude to Mr. Kazım Başar, President of the Erbaa Associations Federation, who spared no effort in supporting us throughout our cultural tour in Istanbul, as well as to the owner and staff of Mykonos Balık Restaurant for hosting us so graciously.

Our project, which fostered scientific development, cultural exchange, and peer solidarity, was a invaluable step that inspired us on our professional journey. We would like to thank our Dean, Professor Dr. Fatih POLAT, for his support in the implementation of our UNIDES Project; Research Assistant Yasemin SAPCI CAN, the academic advisor of the Nursing Science and Culture Club; the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Koç University; our Department Chair; and all the faculty members and students who contributed to this project.
